If you have listened to the show at all you know that it can be a little hard to get everything in. Last night I chatted with Jen from Devourer of Books and we were having such a good time pondering the mysteries of women’s fiction, coming up with new challenges for me, and talking about peanut sauce and pasta that I for got to mention the fun facts! Take a look at what Jen revealed to me about herself and then head over and listen to all that other stuff, if you missed it last night!
Jen In Her Own Words: I read constantly, even with my new son. I’m all about finding any and every opportunity to pick up my book. My husband has (mostly) accepted the steady influx of books into the house and is (mostly) supportive of the time I spend reading and blogging. If I’m not reading or blogging, I’m probably at work or playing with my baby.
Fun Facts!
- I’m the mommy to a sweet little boy, Daniel, who will be almost 8 months old (at the time of the show).
- I met my husband online through match.com and we had a 12-hour long first date, and he proposed less than 6 months later.
- I hated the lack of seasons when I lived in California growing up, so I’m glad to be back in the Midwest, even if winter does start to grate by March.
- I’m descended from Patrick Henry of “give me liberty or give me death” fame, and I use this fact EVERY TIME I have to give facts about myself.
- I spent 2 years teaching 2nd grade in one of the worst neighborhoods in Chicago as part of Teach for America.
- My favorite book of all time is “East of Eden,” followed closely by “Le Petite Prince”
- When I was 3 and my parents went to Europe and left me with family, my bribe to be good was a different new book every night or two.
There was a lot of good stuff there. I need a re-match!
